columbineYoga is intended to create peace and harmony within ourselves and in our everyday living. It gives us the tools to help us begin this journey of self discovery - physically, mentally and spiritually.
Asana, which are the physical exercises, are what gently stretches & lubricates the joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons & gives gentle internal massage to the organs. Asana is also intended to tune the nervous system, improve circulation, release tension & increase flexibility. Yoga has an extraordinary capacity to overhaul, rejuvenate, and bring the entire system into a state of balance.

The body is as young as it is flexible. Yoga focuses on the health of the spine, its strength and flexibility. By maintaining the spine's flexibility and strength through yoga, circulation is increased and the nerves are ensured their supply of nutrients and oxygen.

With regular practice, asana encourage all parts of the body to work more efficiently. While doing yoga, you will also learn to use the full capacity of your breath. As you strengthen your lungs, your immune system will can strengthen and you can feel more energy. Yoga can build your stamina and give you more control of your life.

Many people believe that the asana were originally designed as concentration exercises to help improve the mind’s capacity to meditate.

Classes end with deep relaxation to lower your stress and enlighten your spirit.

I specialize in Kundalini Yoga, the yoga of awareness, as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Kundalini yoga includes sound vibration, meditation, movement and relaxation.

I would love the opportunity to be your yoga coach! spritsong@austin.rr.com or 512*392*3869
